Last night Lady Antebellum took the stage at LP Field to perform some of their biggest hits. They joined the likes of Blake Shelton, Little Big Town, and Hunter Hayes. They also stopped by the press room to chat about what the guys will do on their downtime and how Hillary feels about fans wanting to touch her bump:
When country music fans meet their favorite artists this week at the CMA Music Festival, they usually want to get their picture taken together, maybe give them a hug. For Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott, who’s due to give birth to her first child next month, they sometimes get a little more personal.
They want to rub her belly.
Scott takes having hundreds of strangers’ hands on her in stride, though. “They’re so kind, honestly, just giving gifts, whether they’re cute stuffed animals for a daughter or onesies, little socks or keepsakes,” she said Friday night at LP Field, where the group performed as part of a lineup that also featured Blake Shelton, Hunter Hayes, Randy Travis and Kip Moore. “It’s been really, really sweet.”
Bandmates Charles Kelley and Dave Heywood plan to use the weeks after the new arrival to do some songwriter. “We’ve already been talking with our buddies — Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, Miranda (Lambert) — about getting on their tours and writing some with them,” Kelley says. “Then, when her little girl is old enough, I’m going to sign her to a record deal and make her a big ol’ star. And I’ve got exclusive rights.”
